STALKING

Internet stalkers are individuals who maliciously monitor the online activity of their victims to terrorize and/or acquire personal information. These stalkers know their victims and instead of resorting to offline stalking, they use the Internet to stalk. However, if they notice that cyberstalking is not having the desired effect, they begin offline stalking along with cyberstalking to make the victims’ lives more miserable.

FRAUD EMAIL AND CALL

You must have heard a lot about this cybercrime and you may have also received such a fraud call. In this type of crime, criminal contacts you through fake messages, call or email in which he declares himself to be an employee of a bank and he has called related to your bank account or cards. He asks for personal details like ATM card information, OTP, password, etc. or asks to click on the link sent by himself. If you mistakenly trust them and give them the details, you will lose the money kept in your account.

RANSOMWARE ATTACK

Ransomware is a modern day, technical twist on a crime that has been around for ages – extortion. At its core, ransomware works when criminals steal something of great value and demand payment in exchange for its return. For most businesses, this involves the encryption of company data. When ransomware hits, businesses come to a standstill, and employees cannot do their jobs.

IDENTITY THEFT

This has become a major problem with people using the Internet for cash transactions and banking services. In this cyber-crime, a criminal accesses data about a person’s bank account, credit cards, debit card and other sensitive information to get money or to buy things online in the victim’s name. It can result in major financial losses for the victim and even spoil the victim’s credit history.

FAKE NEWS SHARING IN SOCIAL MEDIA

Some cyber criminals simply work on social networking sites to spread social, religious, & political rumors. Impressed by this, common people inadvertently share the link or post shared by the unknown people in their social media. This causes the user to face legal actions.

WEBSITE SPOOFING

The word spoof means to hoax, trick, or deceive. It is when a website is designed to look like a real one & deceive you into believing it is a legitimate site. This is done to get access to your systems, steal data, steal money, or spread malware.
